Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Progressive Care Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. The position offers Full Time and Part Time night shifts (6pm–6:30am) with weekend/holiday rotations and a generous night-shift differential where applicable.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, current BLS, and CNA certification. Prior medical clerical experience and strong organizational skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current CNA license in state of practice.
• 1 year medical clerical experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• ECG interpretation coursework or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and mobility.
• Collect vital signs and input/output data and document in medical records.
• Report abnormalities to a licensed professional and communicate patient status to care team.
• Assist with procedures and use equipment under supervision.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records, charts, and supplies; ensure forms are filed appropriately.
• Help with patient transport, unit turnover, and equipment management.
