Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the Cardio Pulmonary Surgery unit. Working the Night shift, you will support Registered Nurses by collecting patient data, providing personal care, and aiding in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions within the acute care stay.

Responsibilities include documenting care, turning and mobilizing patients, and performing basic point-of-care testing as trained. A CNA course or equivalent healthcare exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; less than 1 year healthcare setting experience or CNA course preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Honest, punctual, and adherent to Albany Med Health System standards.

Responsibilities

• Collects vital signs and patient data; reports abnormal findings to the RN.
• Provide personal care: bathing, oral care, grooming, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Document all care in the patient record and participate in care planning.
• Assist with 1:1 observation as needed and promote a safe, clean environment.
