Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Overnight Patient Access Specialist in Lakewood, WA. The role supports patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance, serving as primary contact while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

You will verify insurance, collect co-pays, coordinate with providers, and use EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. The position is onsite, four nights a week from 7:30pm to 6:00am with rotating weekends, offering medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare customer service or administrative roles.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic information.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
• Explain financial responsibilities and payment options to patients.
• Obtain required consent and privacy documentation.
• Coordinate with providers, nurses, and insurance companies to support patient care.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
