Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Representative, Patient Access Services for the Mineola night shift. You will register patients, collect financial information, verify insurance, and communicate clearly about financial responsibilities to patients and families.

You’ll interview guarantors and coordinate with care teams to smooth admissions while adhering to policies and sensitivity to patient needs. Excellent communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• CHAA preferred; 1-2 years of customer service in healthcare.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-arrival, check-in, and call-in registration.
• Verify benefits and insurance and collect patient liability.
• Interview patients and guarantors for financial counseling.
• Collaborate with medical staff, departments, and payors to assist patients with healthcare services.
• Ensure proper consent, co-pays, and deductible collection at registration.
