Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Patient Access Associate for a part-time evening shift (4:00 PM - 12:00 AM) on Saturdays and Sundays. The role greets patients, collects necessary information, and supports admission and billing processes in a fast-paced ED/Pre-Surgical setting.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and prior customer service experience, with knowledge of medical terminology. Online applications encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Understanding of Medical Terminology.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Ability to learn quickly as technology and insurance requirements change.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to walk and stand in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Ask appropriate questions to obtain correct identification information.
• Obtain Demographic, Guarantor, Next of Kin, and Emergency Contact information.
• Obtain current insurance coverage and identification.
• Enter COB information to ensure payment.
• Scan documents into the Electronic Document Imaging system.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire as required.
