Job summary

R1 RCM is seeking a Patient Access Customer Service Representative for an on-site position in Austin, TX. This role involves first-line patient contact, check-in support, and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure timely, accurate access to care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and meet vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Register patients across multiple computer systems to ensure fast, accurate access to care.
• Answer phones and collect accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced setting.
• Support timely access to care by reducing registration delays and answering questions clearly and compassionately.
• Build trust with patients during moments of illness, anxiety, or confusion.
• Navigate insurance plans, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
