Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a full-time Patient Access representative to handle outpatient and inpatient registration, verify insurance, and collect patient liabilities during check-in.

You will validate demographics, enter data into the system and coordinate with physicians offices to obtain orders. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding is preferred, with HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital registration or insurance verification experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic coding & procedural coding.
• Ability to explain insurance benefits.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Validate, obtain and enter demographic, clinical, financial and insurance data by interviewing patients or guarantors.
• Perform registration across multiple settings for inpatients, outpatients and ambulatory services.
• Prepare patient estimates, inform liabilities and collect co-pays, deductibles and balances at check-in.
• Obtain signed physician orders for tests and procedures.
• Prepare IDs, scan signatures and secure required forms.
