Job summary

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) is seeking a Full Time Night Shift Patient Access Representative in the Emergency Department to collect and verify demographic and financial information, verify insurance coverage, and ensure accurate data entry.

You will work three days rotating including weekends and holidays, handle payments, issue receipts, and prepare reports while upholding HIPAA confidentiality and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in Admissions, Billing, Collections, Insurance, and/or Customer Service strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, and proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Database management required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify demographic and financial data in our database; verify insurance coverage and benefits, utilizing online eligibility or telephone inquiries.
• Receive payments and issue receipts, actively working towards collection goals and maintaining cash funds/verification logs.
• Prepare and distribute reports, documents, and patient identification items as required, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
