Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital seeks a skilled EMT-Paramedic to provide emergency medical services in the ED setting, focusing on pediatric patients. The role requires one year of pediatric care and field EMT-Paramedic experience where possible, with current CPR/BLS and PALS within 18 months of hire.

Night shifts (7p-7a) on a part-time basis with every third weekend rotation; benefits eligible at 24 hrs/week. Position emphasizes teamwork and rapid, accurate clinical decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience providing emergency medical care in pediatric settings.
• Minimum one year pediatric patient care experience.
• Minimum one year field experience as EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification; PALS within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient condition and provides emergency care with monitoring and adjusting treatment.
• Administers medications and performs procedures as directed.
• Assists with patient transport between ED and other facilities.
• Maintains and operates equipment and supplies for emergency care.
• Collaborates with staff, vendors, consultants, and physicians to ensure quality care.
• Maintains and reports accurate patient care documentation.
