Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center Emergency Department is seeking a Paramedic for full-time night shifts. The role involves delivering age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care under RN/MD supervision, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and families, and collaborating with ED staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The position requires BLS for all staff, with ACLS and PALS required for RNs; NIH certification is preferred and must be obtained within the designated timeframe.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of Paramedic experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (NIH preferred, within timeframe).

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs and start IVs, draw blood and monitor patient status.
• Transport patients to other departments as needed.
• Monitor patients for arrhythmias and report changes to Charge Nurse and Nurse.
• Provide patient education, advocacy and coordinate with ED team.
• Utilize data and technology to support delivery of care.
