Job summary

Novolex is seeking a Former Machine Operator - Night Shift in Mt. Vernon, OH. The role focuses on leading packing operations, ensuring production goals, quality, safety, and customer specs are met.

It requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to guide a team across a 12-hour night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) on a 2-2-3 schedule. Starting pay is $23.13/hour with a focus on equipment troubleshooting, labeling, and coordinating packers.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production, packing, or similar industrial environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and communicate basic equipment issues.
• Forklift experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and print production labels, port tickets, WIP tickets, production orders, and specification sheets for each shift.
• Coordinate staffing and assign packers to production lines based on production standards and business needs.
• Lead, train, and develop new packers and trainers to ensure responsibilities, quality expectations, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate meal and break schedules while maintaining appropriate production coverage.
• Maintain inventory of production labels, port tickets, WIP labels, and other materials.
• Ensure production lines are prepared and ready for setup by completing line-clearance activities.
• Provide leadership to packers/loaders when lines are down or at reduced capacity.
• Operate or assist forklift operations as required.
• Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting and demonstrate mechanical issue understanding.
