Job summary

Novolex in Mt. Vernon, OH is seeking a Former Machine Operator to lead packing operations and ensure production goals are met. The role requires hands-on leadership, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment on the factory floor.

Starting pay is $23.13/hour with day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm on a 2-2-3 schedule. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and maintaining production quality while providing opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and lead on the production floor.
• Forklift experience is required to move materials and support line operations.
• Ability to train and develop new packers and maintain production standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and print production labels, port tickets, WIP tickets, production orders, and specification sheets for each shift
• Coordinate staffing and assign packers to production lines based on production standards
• Lead, train, and develop new packers and trainers to ensure job responsibilities, quality expectations, and safety procedures
• Coordinate meal and break schedules while maintaining production coverage
• Maintain accurate inventory of production labels, port tickets, WIP labels, and other required materials
• Ensure lines are prepared for setup by completing line-clearance activities and verifying materials
• Provide leadership to packers/loaders when lines are down or at reduced capacity
• Operate or assist forklift operations as required
• Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting and mechanical issue handling
