Qualifications

• Proficient in English both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one observation with continuous visualization to ensure safety.
• Notify the nurse of changes in patient condition.
• Remain with patient at all times unless relieved for breaks or end of shift.
• Initiate patient activities and social interactions per the nursing plan of care.
• Maintain a safe patient environment and monitor visitors under nurse direction.
• Assist patient care needs to ensure safety, dignity and autonomy.
• Collaborate with the nurse to assist testing and consultations across hospital areas.
• Participate in teaching behavioral techniques such as relaxation and coping skills.
• Complete required observation forms and annual sitter competency evaluation.
