Job summary

VPNE Parking Solutions in New Haven, CT is seeking a Patient Observer to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing one-on-one observation to maintain patient safety and support learning adaptive coping strategies.

You will stay with patients at all times, assist with activities, document observations, and collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate testing and care, while maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years prior experience preferred in Psychiatry and/or related field.
• Language Skills: Proficient in English both verbally and written.
• Education requirements: High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provides one to one observation with continuous visualization at all times to ensure safety.
• Notifies the patient’s nurse of any changes in the patient’s physical/psychiatric condition.
• Remains with patient at all times unless relieved for breaks, meals and at end of shift.
• Initiates patient activities and social interactions in individual and group settings.
• Maintains a clean and safe patient environment.
• Collaborates with the primary nurse to assist patient in undergoing testing and consultations.
• Completes required documentation (15 minute observation form, safety checks).
• Relocates and rotates to meet patient care needs.
