Job summary

UT Health San Antonio seeks a Hospital Oncology RN II for a full-time night shift. The RN II provides professional nursing care, conducts assessments, assists with exams and treatments, educates patients, and maintains medical records.

The role collaborates with an interprofessional team, mentors staff, and participates in governance initiatives to improve outcomes. The position requires a BSN within 2.5 years or an ADN at hire, Texas RN licensure or compact license, and BLS within 7 days of

Qualifications

• One (1) year of nursing experience in a healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in English for safe patient care and documentation.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families and care teams.
• Strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function independently with clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and communicates plan of care, prioritizes based on patient needs, and advocates for patients and families.
• Provides patient teaching and ensures understanding of care post-discharge.
