Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• RN - Texas State Licensure - must obtain permanent license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency)
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
• Chemotherapy credential: FCIA or ONS-CICC, or ONS-CICR (current incumbents have one year) within 90 days
• Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Uses therapeutic communication to collaborate with patients, families and the interprofessional health care team.
• Conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, and maintains medical records.
• Communicates and coordinates care with physicians and the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
• Leads unit initiatives, serves as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and supports service line or hospital-wide initiatives.
