Job summary

UT Health San Antonio Hospital - Oncology RN II seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide expert cancer care, conduct assessments, coordinate treatment, and educate patients and families. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced oncology unit.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, documenting accurately, mentoring others, and supporting quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must obtain BSN within 2.5 years of hire
• ADN required at date of hire
• BLS certification within 7 days of hire
• Current Texas RN license (or Compact State) or temporary TX license considered

Responsibilities

• Establish plan of care with patient and interprofessional team
• Conduct nursing assessments and maintain medical records
• Provide patient education and discharge planning
• Mentor staff and students; potential preceptorship
• Support quality and safety initiatives and documentation
• Prioritize care based on patient needs and preferences
