Job summary

SUN Behavioral Kentucky is seeking an experienced RN leader to supervise the evening/night and weekend shifts, ensuring safe, compliant care and adequate staffing. The role involves coordinating with CNO and hospital leadership, reviewing incidents, and guiding nursing teams including RN, LPN/LVN, and Mental Health Technicians.

The successful candidate will participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance appraisals, and ongoing education, while aligning with SUN's mission and safety

Qualifications

• Requires ADN or higher nursing degree and current RN license in the state of employment.
• CPR and hospital de-escalation technique certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to interview candidates and provide staff training.

Responsibilities

• Oversees evening/night/weekend nursing shifts and ensures adequate staffing.
• Supervises RN, LPN/LVN, and Mental Health Techs per policies.
• Assists CNO with scheduling, hiring, and onboarding.
• Participates in governance meetings and quality/safety initiatives.
• Conducts performance appraisals and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensures bed management and rounds during night shifts.
