Qualifications

• RN licensed in Iowa or compact state.
• BSN preferred.
• Two years of clinical leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clinically relevant information at handoffs and other times as needed.
• Ensure the appropriate parties have information for optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide high-quality, safe patient care using evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
• Manage department staffing to meet census and adjust as needed.
• Lead department meetings and mentor staff.
• Collaborate to implement quality improvement initiatives and performance goals.
• Model professionalism and cost-conscious resource use.
• Conduct staff performance feedback and annual reviews as delegated.
• Follow Mercy safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions promptly.
