Job summary

Health First in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect patient care across the care continuum, following the nursing process and engaging families.

You will administer medications, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, support discharge planning, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives while maintaining competency and compliance. This part-time role requires FL RN license, ASN/ADN or diploma, BLS, with preferred BSN and ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma required; RN licensure in Florida or with endorsement.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association prior to start date.
• Preferred ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS certificates where required by unit.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking, and ability to document care accurately.
• Maintains competency validations and continuing education compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and perform treatments with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families and promote safe transitions.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Utilize health system technology for clinical documentation and care plans.
• Mentor and onboard new Associates and students as appropriate.
