Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant/LNA-assisted role for 32-hour night shifts, every other weekend and holiday. The role supports RNs and physicians in delivering safe, compassionate patient care on an interdisciplinary team.

The position requires high school diploma, BLS and healthcare experience; lifting and patient handling are essential. Onsite work at 2014 Washington Street with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires multitasking and ability to handle stress effectively.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Typing skills and computer experience required.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and transport patients using Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including vital signs, EKGs, bathing and assisting with ambulation.
• Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and clean.
• Perform and document specimen collection.
• Set up and clean equipment; report malfunctions.
• Document patient information such as height, weight, intake/output, glucose results.
• Assist patients with food tray setup and eating as needed.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient care and conditions.
• Receive and direct Medical Staff, patients, and visitors.
