Job summary

AdventHealth Hendersonville is seeking a Part-time Laboratory Technician for the Night shift to perform pre- and post-analytical laboratory duties. You will maintain equipment, manage specimens, and ensure accurate reporting of results in a fast-paced clinical lab.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of clinical lab experience, with strong attention to detail, safety, and compliance with CLIA standards. Overtime and weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CLIA regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, processing, cleaning, and disinfection.
• Conducts post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including reporting results and providing technical support.
• Completes tests and procedures accurately according to SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and adheres to federal/state regulations.
• May precept and train new employees and students, documenting appropriately.
• Guides technicians and staff, resolves customer service issues within guidelines.
• Follows PPE and safety policies and completes required hazardous waste training.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and evaluates new techniques.
• Facilitates workflow and supports clinical staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
