AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform pre-analytical and analytical lab tasks, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate specimen processing. You will support post-analytical reporting and participate in proficiency testing.

The role requires Bachelor's in lab science and 2+ years of clinical lab experience; strong attention to detail, good communication, and ability to educate staff. Night shift available; benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience (preferred).
• CLIA equivalency or related credentials may apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance and specimen collection.
• Conducts post-analytical activities and reports results.
• Completes tests accurately following SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and regulatory compliance.
• Preceptors new staff and students as needed.
• Guides technicians and supports clinical staff education.
• Follows safety policies including PPE usage and hazardous waste handling.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Evaluates new laboratory techniques and assists with projects.
• Facilitates workflow and supports education.
• Other duties as assigned.
