Advocate Health in Illinois seeks a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Transfusion Lab. This full-time role performs a broad range of tests and ensures timely result reporting during the 3rd shift (10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requires a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (or equivalent MLS/MT). Certification within 1 year is expected; strong communication and leadership skills are essential in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP/BOC or AMT certification within 1 year if not already certified.

Responsabilités

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests per protocol.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports results.
• Performs calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments.
• Reviews quality control and quality assurance for improvement.
• Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Provides training and guidance to staff and students.
• Ensures compliance with accrediting standards and protocols.
• Performs specialty testing across transfusion and other disciplines.
