Covenant Health's Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville is hiring a Medical Technologist for full-time night shift. You will perform high-complexity and routine clinical lab tests, consult with physicians on results, and ensure quality control and proper specimen handling.

This role offers a sign-on bonus for new grads and for experienced candidates, and requires a Tennessee state license as a Medical Technologist.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee State License as a Medical Technologist.

Responsabilités

• Perform high complexity tests as appropriate for testing department and shift.
• Follow the Laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient results.
• Document all corrective actions taken when the test process deviates from the Laboratory’s established performance specifications.
• Perform proficiency testing samples and maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency-testing samples are tested in same manner as patient samples.
• Adhere to Laboratory’s quality control policies; document all control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results; notify appropriate personnel if unresolved.
• Assist in orientation, instruction and evaluation of students and new employees to the department.
• Prepare various reagents and supplies according to precise formulas as needed.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Plan work to insure maximum productivity with minimum carry over, and communicate information to others.
• Review abnormal patient reports daily; normal reports weekly.
