Job summary

Covenant Health is seeking a Medical Technologist at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. The position is full-time with 80 hours per pay period and a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM shift, including rotating weekends.

Sign-on bonuses of $5,000 for experienced technologists or $2,000 for new grads are offered. The role requires current Tennessee licensure as a Medical Technologist and color vision testing clearance.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee State License as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity tests as appropriate for testing department and shift.
• Follow the Laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient results.
• Document all corrective actions taken when the test process deviates from specifications.
• Perform proficiency testing samples and maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing is performed correctly.
• Adhere to quality control policies; document control activities, calibrations and maintenance.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting and take corrective action.
• Assist in orientation and training of students and new employees.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
