Job summary

Claiborne Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for the General Laboratory. This full-time role operates night shift (72 hours per pay period) with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for new grads.

The site offers a pathway to contribute to high-complexity testing and patient care in a comprehensive lab setting. Responsibilities include performing established tests, maintaining quality control, documenting actions, and assisting in training staff.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee State License as Medical Laboratory Technician.
• ASCP or NCA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and high complexity tests trained in, as appropriate for the department and shift.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting and record-keeping.
• Document corrective actions and ensure test performance is within specification before reporting results.
• Assist with proficiency-testing samples and maintain consistent methodology for patient samples.
• Maintain quality control activities, calibrations, and instrument maintenance per manuals.
