Job summary

Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital seeks a supplemental Medical Technologist or MLT to join our team for a combination of Evening and Overnight shifts. Schedule: Nights is 12 hour shift, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Evenings: 2:30 to 11 p.m. This will be a combination of weekdays and weekends as needed. Position is responsible for performing laboratory testing and procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/CLS from an accredited program, or an Associate degree with a Bachelor's in a chemical/biological field.
• ASCP/AMT MLS or equivalent certification eligible; must become certified within one year.
• Generalist MLS knowledge and experience in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily laboratory operations including specimen collections, processing, quality control, and testing.
• Interprets and verifies test results using techniques, principles, and instrumentation.
• Maintains testing analyzers and performs troubleshooting as needed.
• Directs personnel and communicates results to hospital staff.
• Supports point-of-care testing and blood bank operations for trauma services.
• Ensures safety and compliance with policies and regulatory agencies.
• Promotes education and competency assessment among staff.
