Memorial Hermann Katy seeks a Medical Technologist or MLT to join our team for a supplemental night position. Schedule is every other weekend: Saturday and Sunday, with shifts between 8 and 10 hours. The role involves performing various laboratory tests and procedures as assigned.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in biological science and appropriate licensure/certification (ASCP/AMT/CLS or equivalent), with eligibility or active status and experience in clinical laboratory settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science (Equivalency Required for Foreign Education)
• Licenses/Certifications: Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International), Certified CLS (ASCP), Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International) CM or ASCP Certification Eligible
• ASCP/AMT/CLS certifications or eligibility for MLS/CLS with NAACLS MLS program completion or equivalent experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology and Urinalysis/Body Fluids

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents test results, quality control, maintenance procedures and associated corrective actions according to policy/procedure.
• Manages daily lab operations including collections, sample processing, results reporting, and staffing coordination as appropriate.
• Interacts with hospital personnel, physicians and patients regarding specimens and results.
• Complies with policies, procedures and standards of the Laboratory Services and regulatory bodies.
• Promotes safe, patient-centered care and supports PI processes and cost efficiency.
