Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services is hiring a Medical Technologist for night shift (9pm-5:30am) with rotating weekends in Florida. You will perform lab testing, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain quality control across multiple specialties.

The role requires an Associate or higher in Medical Technology, Florida licensure, and 1+ year of MT experience. Strong generalist skills in several disciplines are preferred.

Qualifications

• A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required.
• A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred.
• A State of Florida Technologist License is required OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas: Generalist, Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely lab testing on proficiency samples within the time frame.
• Assume department responsibilities when supervisor is absent.
• Complete all required records for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Use good judgment and independent thinking in interpreting patient results (e.g., delta checks).
• Review logs and resolve outstanding workload; communicate needs to relief staff.
• Perform QC per protocol and handle problematic/critical specimens.
