Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide expertise in laboratory testing and patient result interpretation. The role supports a fast-paced team and requires accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to turnaround times.

Qualifications include an Associate degree, Florida licensure or license eligibility, and at least 1 year of MT experience. A Bachelor's in Medical Technology is preferred, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 year/Associate degree is required
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred
• State of Florida Technologist License is required OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
• Generalist license areas include Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and completing within the allowed time frame
• Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor
• Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
• Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the interpretation of patient results
• Review pending logs and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results
