Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Medical Technologist for a hospital laboratory in Brooklyn, NY. The role involves performing qualitative and quantitative analyses across hematology subspecialties, including urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts, within a supportive environment.

The position is part-time (up to 35 hours every two weeks) with primarily night shifts (11:00 PM or 12:00 AM–8:00 AM) in a Brooklyn hospital laboratory covering Microbiology, Blood Bank, General Lab, Chemistry, Hematology,

Qualifications

Must hold a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or NYSDOE permit.
Experience with chemistry and hematology testing including urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts.
Open to entry-level candidates with NYS MLT license.
Experience in a clinical laboratory environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens for the assigned station.
Understand test principles and maintain knowledge of equipment.
Ensure proper storage of all specimens.
Follow quality control policies to ensure reliable patient results.
Recognize and report critical or life-threatening results to the clinician.
Document all results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
