Job summary

Mount Sinai Hospital in New York seeks a Specialty Laboratory Technologist in Microbiology for a Full Time Night shift (Midnight–8am, weekends and holidays). You will perform clinical laboratory procedures, maintain instrument QC, and ensure compliance with LIS documentation to support accurate patient care.

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or equivalent, 0–1 year experience, and NYS DOH technologist licensing. ASCP or NCA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent education to meet NYS DOH technologist standards.
• 0-1 year experience
• Licensing: Clinical Laboratory Technologist Issuing Agency: DOH / Office of Professions
• ASCP preferred or NCA certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
• Performs technical procedures in Molecular Pathology, Tumor Cytogenomics, Flow Cytometry as outlined in policies.
• Maintains QC/ calibration procedures, signs QC logs, and records in LIS.
• Reviews Critical Test results and communicates with Nursing Staff/Physician; notifies supervisor when needed.
• Prioritizes work to meet turnaround times; notifies if delays occur.
