Job summary

Advocate Health in Macon, GA, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory analyses on received specimens, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in the execution of duties.

Responsibilities include conducting complex tests per standards, maintaining equipment, and training new staff, with opportunities to assist in teaching and safety initiatives within a fast-paced clinical lab environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School or GED diploma at minimum.
• A Baccalaureate degree with science coursework as specified (chemistry, biology, math).

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory analyses on received specimens to aid diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
• Reports complex tests in accordance with FDA, CAP, AABB, GDHR and The Joint Commission standards.
• Maintains equipment, manages workload, and ensures quality, safety and efficiency of duties.
• Knowledgeable of Laboratory Information System and downtime procedures.
• Assists in teaching students and training new employees; participates in safety and inventory tasks.
