Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Laboratory Technologist-Generalist for the night shift to support up to four lab areas including Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Blood Bank.

The role requires ASCP/NCA/AMT licensure and a Bachelor's degree in medical technology, with 2–3 years of relevant laboratory experience. Candidates must maintain competency across multiple areas and adhere to CAP, DNV and CLIA standards.

Qualifications

• Requires licensure: ASCP, NCA, or AMT. Meets Georgia state requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or equivalent.
• Two (2) - three (3) years of experience preferred; multiple pathways acceptable as noted in qualifications.
• Basic computer skills, ability to perform independent analysis, and good interpersonal and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes routine and stat testing according to department policy and established time frame.
• Performs analysis independently according to established criteria.
• Lends assistance to other areas of the laboratory as needed to facilitate specimen implementation.
• Performs equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Maintains lab records and documentation, entering data into computer systems.
• Consults with Section Supervisor or pathologist on questionable results.
• Reviews and enters daily QC data and interprets QC results per policy.
• Precepts MLT students as needed.
• Attends continuing education programs as established by the laboratory.
