Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part Time Technician I for Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Yardville, NJ. The role supports clinical and administrative medical teams by taking vital signs, assisting with exams, collecting specimens, and managing supplies.

Requires valid CMA/EMT/CNA certification, CPR, a valid driver’s license, and at least two years of relevant healthcare experience. This is a full onsite position with night shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA/EMT/CNA certification required.
• At least two years of progressively more responsible healthcare experience involving multiple areas of knowledge, skill and abilities and demonstrating competencies.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in EMR.
• Assists the physician/APP with procedures and prepares inmate for examination.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling including blood draws.
• Maintains and sterilizes equipment in Health Service Unit.
• Maintains supply stock and orders in a timely manner.
• Aggregates orders of medications and forwards to pharmacy.
