Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part Time Technician I for South Woods State Prison, Bridgeton, NJ. The Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the Prison.

The role requires night shifts, CMA/EMT/CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license. It is an onsite, 20-hour workweek with a 12-month appointment under Teamsters 97.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA/EMT/CNA certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• Driver's license required; must possess own vehicle or alternate means of transportation between sites.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in EMR.
• Assists the physician/advanced practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for the examination.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including blood draws.
• Assists with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
• Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintains the supply stock in the examination rooms.
• Aggregates the orders of all medications and forwards to the pharmacy provider / local pharmacy.
