Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Technician I for the Northern State Prison, located in Newark, NJ. The role involves assisting a clinical team, taking vital signs, specimen collection, and coordination with pharmacy services, on a part-time night shift.

Contracted as a Part Time on-site position, the candidate must have CMA/EMT/CNA certification and CPR, with at least two years of related healthcare experience and a valid driver’s license to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification required.
• At least two years of progressively responsible healthcare experience.
• Valid Driver’s License is required; own vehicle or transport between sites.
• CPR Certification is required.

Responsabilités

• Take vital signs, height and weight and document in EMR.
• Assist physician with examinations and prep of inmates.
• Obtain specimen collection, including blood draws.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment.
• Maintain supply stock in Health Service Unit and exam rooms.
• Aggregate medication orders and forward to pharmacy provider.
