Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full Time Technician I for Southwoods State Prison, Bridgeton, NJ. The Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the Prison.

The role includes assisting with procedures, specimen collection, equipment sterilization, maintaining supply stocks, and coordinating medication orders with the pharmacy provider. Onsite work required with evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification required.
• At least two (2) years of progressively responsible healthcare experience involving multiple areas of knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician/AP with procedures and exam preparation.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including blood draws.
• Assists with cleaning and sterilization of equipment in Health Service Unit.
• Maintains supply stock in Health Service Unit by ordering timely.
• Maintains supply stock in examination rooms.
• Aggregates orders of medications and forwards to pharmacy provider.
