Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a part-time night shift at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. The role emphasizes accurate testing, quality control, and timely reporting in a patient-centered environment.

You will perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic duties across laboratory sections, with adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards. Shift is 10pm–6:30am, every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, MLS, CL Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related Allied Health field enabling ASCP certification eligibility.
• General license/certification requirement and regulatory compliance for MLS/MT roles.
• If hired after 1/19/2025 must obtain ASCP certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs prereporting/pre-analytic activities ensuring correct specimen collection and lab entry.
• Performs analytical testing following SOPs and maintains instrument accuracy.
• Performs QC/QA procedures and documents results; troubleshoots issues per protocol.
• Handles post-analytical tasks including reporting results and ensuring appropriate record keeping.
• Works to maintain safety, accuracy, and timely turnaround for patient testing.

Bachelor's in Medical Tech / MLS related field
