Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System seeks a Med Lab Scientist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist for Nampa Medical Center on the night shift. You will perform tests across Chemistry, Blood Bank, Heme/Coag, Micro & Special Chemistry and maintain quality control.

The requirements include a Bachelor's degree and ASCP/AMT/MLS/CLS certification or registry eligibility within 1 year, plus completion of medical technology training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• ASCP/AMT/MLS/CLS certification or registry-eligible within 1 year of hire.
• Completion of medical technology training required.

Responsibilities

• Rotate in Chemistry, Blood Bank, Heme/Coag, Micro & Special Chemistry.
• Perform, record and review QC; take corrective action when out of limits.
• Maintain equipment and document performance; address poor instrument performance.
• Verify specimen labeling, integrity and suitability.
• Perform low, medium and high complexity testing per protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Report results and critical values per protocol.
• Prioritize workload and assist other areas as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy as required.
• Monitor inventory to ensure supplies are available.
• Review work of CLAs and perform corrective actions as needed.
• Complete tasks without direct supervision.
• Ensure accuracy of reported work; communicate with oncoming shift.
