UNC Health Care in Raleigh, NC is recruiting for Medical Laboratory Scientists I or II on a per diem basis for night shifts. This hybrid posting supports UNC Rex Healthcare and Rex Microbiology teams in an onsite setting with standard weekly hours around 8.00.

The MLS I/II positions require a laboratory science degree with appropriate certifications; MLS II requires more advanced credentials and experience. Hiring ranges exist, with pay offers based on experience and equity.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or associate degree in clinical/medical laboratory science or related field.
• No prior professional laboratory experience required for MLS I.
• Certifications vary by degree: MT/MLS or MLT options with ASCP/AMT as applicable.

Responsabilidades

• Performs waived, point-of-care, moderate and high complexity CLIA testing as appropriate.
• Investigates and resolves equipment, results, specimens, and workflow issues.
• Performs quality control and proficiency testing; monitors accuracy of testing.
• Prepares reagents and assists with standard/control materials.
• Monitors reagent inventory and lab supplies.
• Reviews results for accuracy and timely corrections.
• Reports results and consults with healthcare providers as needed.
• Participates in teams and special projects; supports training of new staff.
• Acts as a technical resource; works under direction or independently based on experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
