Qualifications

• MLS I requires a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or related.
• MLS II requires MT/MLS certification appropriate to degree with relevant licensure.
• ASCP/AMT certifications are required per degree level.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived/point of care, moderate, and high complexity CLIA testing as appropriate to role.
• Investigates and resolves problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, and monitors accuracy and precision of testing.
• Prepares reagents and assists in preparation of standard and control materials.
• Monitors reagent inventory and assists with maintaining laboratory supplies.
• Reviews test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors.
• Reports laboratory results and consults with healthcare providers as needed.
• Participates in teams and/or special projects or assignments.
• Participates in education and training of new employees and learners.
• Serves as a technical resource and works under direction or independently.
