Job summary

MultiCare is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) for the Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, WA. This 0.88 FTE position covers night shifts (8:00pm–6:30am) with a 7 days on/7 days off schedule, performing a range of patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, and problem resolution.

The role requires an Associate degree, MLT (ASCP)CM or MLT (ASCP) certification, and at least 1 year of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or military equivalence accepted.
• Current Certification of Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) ASCP CM or ASCP MLT required.
• 50‑week military program in lieu of an Associate's degree may be accepted.
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or eligibility if phlebotomy duties are included.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and ensure positive identification.
• Assess specimen suitability; reject if necessary.
• Prepare reagents as needed for testing.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
