Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for the full‑time night shift. You will perform waived and moderately complex testing across Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Immunology, following CLIA guidelines and hospital procedures.

The role requires an active license where required, ASCP certification (or equivalent), and an Associate’s degree in a related field, with prior hospital lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license where required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Associate’s degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in a program for MLT.
• 1 year of hospital laboratory work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, highly and moderately complex testing per CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489).
• Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow QA/QC policies and document corrective actions for out-of-spec results.
• Perform venipuncture or capillary puncture as needed across age groups.
• Maintain instruments and equipment as required and assist in policy development.
