Job summary

MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA, seeks a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to perform a range of laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis and technical problem solving. The role requires accurate specimen handling and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have an ASCP MLT certification (CM) or equivalent, an associate degree or approved military program, and preferred Laboratory experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required (or equivalent military program).
• Current MLT (ASCP)CM certification or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification or eligible if phlebotomy duties are included.
• Minimum one year of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and ensure positive identification.
• Determine specimen suitability and reject if needed.
• Prepare reagents and perform instrument maintenance/calibration.
