Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, WA. This role performs a range of analytic lab tasks, quality control, data analysis and troubleshooting, with dayshift hours and rotating weekends.

The ideal candidate holds an ASCP-certified MLT or equivalent, an associate degree, and at least one year of lab experience; some alternate education paths are acceptable. Join a mission-driven team delivering patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Current Certification of Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP)CM. or MLT (ASCP).
• 50 week military program in lieu of associate’s degree may be accepted.
• Current Medical Assistant‑Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant‑Phlebotomist eligible (if phlebotomy duties).
• Minimum one year of prior laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive identification.
• Determine specimen suitability and reject if necessary.
• Prepare reagents as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.

Education

Associate degree

Medical Assistant‑Phlebotomist Certification or eligible
