Job summary

MultiCare Covington Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to perform a dynamic range of daily work functions from patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, to data analysis and technical problem resolutions.

You will receive specimens, ensure correct identification, assess specimen suitability, prepare reagents, and maintain instruments; an associate degree and MLT (ASCP)CM or ASCP certification are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree.
• Current Certification of Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP)CM. or MLT (ASCP).
• 50 week military program in lieu of associate's degree may be accepted.
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible (if duties will include phlebotomy).
• Minimum one (1) year of previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• You will receive specimens, establish and maintain positive identification of specimens.
• You will determine suitability of specimen; may reject specimen.
• You will acquire/prepare reagents as needed.
• You will perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
