Job summary

Avery Dennison Corporation in Indiana is seeking a Mechanical Technician for night shifts (10pm–6am, Sunday to Friday) to troubleshoot and repair mechanical drive systems, maintain equipment reliability, and support safety initiatives across the plant. You will develop standard procedures, train junior staff, and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to keep production running efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years verifiable work experience in mechanical drive train and mechanical machine repair.
• Must have knowledge of bearing preloads and gear sets.
• Must understand AC/DC drives.
• Safety-focused and team-oriented.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance repair of mechanical drive systems and equipment.
• Establish mechanical inspection and preventive maintenance routes.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment; diagnose major/minor drive system failures.
• Transfer knowledge and mentor shift maintenance technicians.
• Participate in training and development projects; support plant leadership goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
