Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a maintenance-oriented candidate to assist experienced mechanics in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing quarry equipment and mobile machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and related production equipment.

You will learn safe maintenance practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment operating standards while supporting equipment reliability and reporting issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude for learning equipment maintenance in an industrial setting.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools under supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety.

What You’ll Be Doing

Conditions of Employment

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

Physical Demands of the Job

• Frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and work on uneven terrain.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting throughout the workday.
• Work at varying heights and in confined spaces while following safety procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
• Maintain visual and auditory awareness to safely work around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
